Expiry dates and reminders

Put a date on wine, food, or anything else that goes off, and get a notification before it does.

Some collections have a clock on them. Turn on expiry dates for a category and every item in it gets a date field and a reminder. Expiry dates are a Klepto Pro feature.

Turn it on

  1. Settings → Expiry Dates.
  2. Under Enabled categories, switch on the ones that need it. Wine is on by default.
  3. Tap Permission so Klepto can send notifications, then Send a test notification to make sure they arrive.
  4. Choose When to notify — at expiry, or a lead time before it.

Set a date on an item

  1. Open an item in an enabled category.
  2. Tap the Expiry Date row and pick a date.

When something expires

  • Expired items are flagged in their collection and collected under Expired on the home screen, or in the Mac sidebar.
  • The reminder fires as a normal notification. Tap it to jump straight to the item.

Tips

  • Turning a category off cancels its scheduled reminders. Nothing else changes.
  • Sort a collection by Expiry, soonest first to see what needs drinking.
