Work in progress. This guide is still being filled in — the app already does everything below.
Add an item from a photo
When there is no barcode — pins, Squishmallows, LEGO sets in the wild — Klepto identifies items from a photo.
The photo path is what makes Klepto different from a spreadsheet. Aim the camera, and it figures out what you’re looking at.
Steps
- Tap the + button.
- Choose Identify with Camera.
- Frame the item so the whole thing is visible against a reasonably clean background.
- Wait for the identification. A polaroid appears with the best match — name, category, cover image.
- Confirm or tap the alternates if the top match isn’t right.
- Tap Save.
Tips
- Multi-shot works for cards and small collectibles — one photo, many items.
- Klepto matches against a built-in catalog for supported categories (LEGO, Funko, Squishmallow, cards, and more). Off-catalog items fall back to manual entry.
